HB: We wanted the wedding to be based around a central pagan-style feast where everyone could indulge hedonistically. We wanted most of the budget to go to the food and drink so people would leave feeling full, happy and like they’d had one of the best meals in recent memory! We also wanted there to be a messiness to the vibe.
HM: I wanted to leave the wedding like a child after their first day at school. I specifically asked people not to fuss over me or stop be getting food on my dress, I wanted to get messy and ruin my dress as a sign of a good time. I spent the last hour of the wedding feeding people cake on the dance floor, my face was covered in other people’s lipstick and my dress was covered in late night kebabs. It was the best.
